Most people refer to Texas Hold’em when they talk about Poker. It is a Poker variation that keeps on getting popular over the years. The World Series of Poker and some movies contributed to its huge success worldwide. Not everyone knows that there are actually different types of Poker. The main types are Stud, Draw, and Community Card Poker. There are several versions and variations of these types in W88.
Stud Poker
Players receive about 5-7 cards. Those cards should form their best hand.
High/Low Chicago
Players can play this game for the highest hand or the lowest. The player with the highest spade face-down wins half the pot in High Chicago. For Low Chicago, the player with the lowest spade face-down wins half the pot. The player with the best hand gets the other half of the pot. A player can win the entire pot if that player has the best hand and the winning spade, high or low. People often combine this game with other Poker variations.
Draw Poker
For Draw Poker games, players can trade some cards to improve their hand. Some games let players trade only 1 card but other games allow up to 3 cards.
5-Card Draw Poker
This is the game of choice for most players before Texas Hold’em became popular. Players can discard any of the 5 cards in their starting hand and draw the same number of cards. The goal of the game is to form the best 5-card high hand.
Community Card Poker
In this type of Poker game, the dealer gives players hole cards face down. Hole cards are those the players own for themselves and do not share with others. The dealer then sets the community cards on the table. All players share these cards to make their best hand.
Texas Hold’em Poker
This variation is the most popular Poker game in the United States and in most places around the world. Players receive 2 hole cards and wait for the revelation of the 5 community cards. There are betting rounds between four rounds:
- after the players receive their hole cards;
- during the flop or after the revelation of the first 3 community cards;
- during the turn or after the dealer reveals the fourth community card; and
- during the river or after the dealer flips the fifth community card over.
Players combine their hole cards with the community cards to form their best 5-hand card. The player with the best Poker ranking hand wins the game.
