Back from the international break but straight into Europe. The Champions League returns with some big matchups which promise to be a great watch.
On Tuesday Manchester City go up against their colour-sake Napoli. No matter what the Italians think they will be doing on Tuesday, one thing we know is that they will be picking the ball out of their net at least once. City scored 7 on the weekend and are in scintillating form. They have also not lost a home game in 2017. With the goals flying in then, we suggest a punt at one of the Citizens to leave with a hattrick. European football suits Gabriel Jesus and William Hill offer 11/1 for him to make it happen.
Real Madrid and Tottenham go head to head in the battle of the whites. Gareth Bale returns to face his old club who he terrorised on many occasions with. With home advantage, Real Madrid are understandably favourites. They haven’t set LA Liga alight yet but you can never underestimate a side with this much seer global talent. Including Gareth Bale. The Welshman is at 19/4 to be first goalscorer with Betvictor.
Benfica is the venue for Manchester United. United’s form against the Portuguese giant is winning6 of the last 9. Benfica only has one goal so far in the competition and come up against a United side accused of parking the bus. Here will be few goals of note in this one. Perhaps a draw at 13/5 with Paddy Power will pocket some interest.
Chelsea tries to recover from their shock defeat to Crystal Palace against Rome. Chelsea tops the group with maximum points but come up against a Rome side who have won 5 of their last in the Serie A by two goals and more. Palace discovered some weak points on the weekend and showed the bluntness of Chelsea without Morata. A shock win for Roma at 22/5 seems like less of a shock right now.
Los Angeles Lakers v Los Angeles Clippers
Looking elsewhere and across the pond, the NBA season is nearing and pre-season ahs one of the biggest inner-city rivalries coming on Friday 20th. Despite sharing the same home in the Staples Center it will be a Clippers home crowd and as such they get the best odds to win. Lakers are a team in transition after the loss of Kobe Bryant and rebuilding a squad with a franchise with a history like theirs will take years not games.
Los Angeles Clippers, on the other hand, have built a team over years and have moulded their own stars with Blake Griffin at the top of the pack. DeAndre Jordan is also an old head in the squad now. Clippers will be hoping to end the preseason on a high and it will no doubt be at the Lakers expense. Paddy Power has Clippers winning at 4/9.
The European PGA touches down in Southern Spain for the Andalucian Masters. This region of Spain boasts 65% of the golf courses in the nation so there will certainly be an enthusiastic crowd. Home favourites will be the likes of Alejandro Canizares and Alvaro Quiros. Quiros has disappeared from the golfing scene in recent years and is in desperate need of a win if he hopes to make it back into the top 100. He and everyone else have rounded odds of 100/1 so make sure you spread your stake, but we tip that it will be a Spaniard who will be able to take on the Spanish heat and lift the title.
